Wilfston Finance Solutions was founded to give small, independent businesses the solid financial footing they need to grow with confidence. After nearly 15 years working in cafés, pubs and restaurants across Paris and Yorkshire, I swapped stove for spreadsheets in 2021 — driven by a desire to build a family life and follow in my grandad’s footsteps into accountancy.

That background still shapes everything I do. I understand the reality of running a hospitality or retail business: long hours, tight margins, busy periods, and the constant need to keep cashflow under control. My aim is to make the numbers feel simpler and less stressful — keeping your bookkeeping tidy, your records organised, and your finances clear enough to support good decisions.

I work with sole traders and small businesses, particularly those in food, drink and local retail. Whether you’re already using Xero or you’re still on spreadsheets, I can help you get set up properly and then keep things running smoothly month to month — with friendly, practical support and no jargon.

What's included in your monthly bookkeeping?

Book a free consultation using the contact details below. I’ll ask a few quick questions about your business, recommend the right package, and if we’re a good fit we’ll get you onboarded and ready to start from the 1st of next month.

Bank reconciliation, sensible coding of income and expenses, keeping things organised in Xero, and an end-of-month snapshot so you know where you stand. If you’re VAT registered, I can also handle VAT checks and submission.

No. If you’re on spreadsheets (or another system), I can move you onto Xero from the 1st of next month and get everything set up properly. If you’re already on Xero, I can simply pick things up and tidy as we go.

Yes. If your books are a bit messy or you’ve fallen behind, I offer a one-off tidy-up to get everything up to date and reconcile the bank. I’ll always agree the scope and cost up front, so there are no surprises.
